Re: New bus stop shelters for Sydney?

It's important that the new shelters be functional. The Decaux shelters are not. If you sit on the seat you cant see the bus coming because of the advertising.

Re: TV - Michael Portillo in Oz.

Another egotist, in the name of Tony Robinson, otherwise going by the name of "Baldrick", has joined the ranks of rail tourist dragging along a TV crew. Emulating Portillo, his egotism even extends to a "Sir" in the credits! But I confess to enjoying his 2020 visit to El Paso, Texas, with its beauti...

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown

Why on earth have they splayed the terminating Metro tracks to align with the existing tracks AT THIS POINT IN TIME? By keeping the Metro tracks close together, much more platform space would be available for pedestrian circulation, where is it surely needed, at the western end of the Metro platform...

CAMPSIE PICTURES ^^^^^^^ - Metro's inclination to the provision of "artists' impressions" of station entrances and concourses suggests that their PR people might think that's what interests passengers most. In Metro's early promotions, much emphasis was placed on total (door-to-door) travel times. I...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - 2020

Around midday Monday 4.5.20, "skywriting" appeared over Sydney with "Happy sky day". What interests me is why the plane involved did not appear on the flightradar24 app. It was very high - barely visible to the naked eye.
