Looks like one of the uber rare 1984 0305's with factory fitted ZF HP running gear has returned home to New Plymouth, once again in green; well, fluro green not NPCT green.
This particular one was NPCT #8, then Richies #429.

Re: Second Hand Uk Imports
Yes, it could be that the individual depots will apply additional livery to the vehicles once they have arrived, but no one can give me a concrete answer.
All of the imported buses have been allocated to specific depots, but obviously not all have been delivered there yet.

Two more have arrived, with all destined for School services. Rear doors will be added to the ones primarily used on the urban services.
All vehicles have the same livery.

Tranzit #804 MCV 14.240 B43F in service on Route 7 yesterday to cover for a broken down vehicle. Two of these have arrived in New Plymouth, and have proven to be incredibly elusive vehicles to photograph as the single door variety are currently used on School obiter services whose routes all bypass ...

MAN 10.155's will be retired.
Mitsubishi buses will still be used for school services (note these actually run better than the European buses of similar age)

Re: Second Hand Uk Imports
Hi guys. A number of the ones destined for Tranzit are heading to New Plymouth to replace the Mitsubishi's that will continue to be used for School orbiter services only. I believe a few of them are currently being painted in Tranzit CityLink livery in Masterton right now, so delivery won't be too f...

Re: General - Auckland (Part 3)
Just one of the regular ones been down for a service check - all of them are being done - 395 is being used as the spare on the 380 while this work is being done - incidentally 395 is lettered for Taranaki routes - how many BCIs are in New Plymouth? Just one BCI (395) at the moment, and a Zonda. Mo...

Pretty sure it had an F-series plate, but it definitely had all the standard Route 380 Airporter decals over it. Went past pretty quick so unfortunately I didn't have time to get a photo.

Re: General - Auckland (Part 3)
So it looks like the 380 Airport service is up for some new BCI's. Just spotted a brand new bright orange one driving past my office. That's a pretty good deal if I can catch it from here in New Plymouth to Auckland Airport for $4.30.

Confirmed: New order of BCI buses to service New Plymouth's 11 main routes. :D One new BCI will be transferred from Palmerston North to New Plymouth, with a view to entering service after Taranaki Anniversary weekend (two weeks time). So who's the lucky recipient of the brand new silver BCI SLF's I just saw at the Henwood Rd interchange (New Plymouth) heading downtown a few moments ago? One had FAL MAF HOLD written across the front in pen.

The NZTA are doing it because they are looking to pass the costs of running the service on to the consumer, rather than the taxpayer.

Hi guys, haven't been here in a long time, but thought I'd post what I saw this morning. Spotted two brand new BCI coaches leaving the New Plymouth CBD and heading South. They had "Tranzit Coachlines" on the destination signs. No branding on them what-so-ever though. I didn't manage to get...

2-Stroke? There's a V6 2-Stroke Denning in New Plymouth used for coach tours and for Intercity services (very rarely). Boy is it loud!

Tranzit Dennis Dart #252 - NPL
Here's a pic for those who are interested in the Dennis Darts that still remain in the country. I had the pleasure recently, of riding this vintage 1990 Dennis Dart (B32F) in New Plymouth running on Route 9 - Fitzroy & The Valley (contrary to the sign which shows route 40 - Oakura). She still ru...

While I'll have a bit more about this in the next Running Sheet magazine, I thought I'd make a quick post here as I'm not sure when the next official issue will be. From May 31st 2010 a new ten route bus network will be established, with on-peak services 30 min's and off-peak services of 60's min's....
