Re: Timetable Changes 2024,

Though for a bus from Paddington to terminate at Town Hall, is there a place to lay up a bus or will it have to be scheduled as a loop (going via, say, Clarence/Market/York St... noting the left turn from York to Druitt/Park St sometimes takes a while especially if multiple light rail vehicles are ...

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,

The only other change of note as part of the 29 April changes seems to be the extension of 362 services to run on weekends year round, as opposed to just during daylight savings. Information also seems to suggest more artics on Route 343 later in the evenings. Given current overcrowding issues there...

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

Custom Denning has both Transit Systems and Keolis Downer in its order book for Element 2 delivery this year, so expect to see some Element 2s showing up at both in the coming months. Beyond that it is somewhat unclear at when other operators will be receiving new buses. CDC has previously indicated...

Re: Bus Observations 2024.

It has been a sight seeing the odd STA livery bus running in region 13 recently because of some transfers across the Transit Systems regions. One left Parramatta 10 minutes ago on 907. Was behind ex-Kingsgrove MO5494 L113CRL on Meredith St Bankstown, of which I think a couple of been transferred ac...

Re: State Transit / Transit Systems Ansair Orana Retirement

The withdrawl of 20 year old B12s in Newcastle ahead of 28 year old Oranas in Sydney is strange, but there probably had to be a good reason to do so. KD itself would have to have considered requesting to send the B12s to its Sydney operations to replace B10s.

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

Sydney has plenty of artics, perhaps too many given the keenness of the operators of the former State Transit regions to move them on. In fact, there are hardly enough. The disdain of artics held by a certain operator and a certain former minister are very misguided. That operator has been directed...

Re: State Transit / Transit Systems Ansair Orana Retirement

Meanwhile Busways 3693 lives on, turns 28 this month. It appears that the Oranas are destined to live well beyond their 26th birthdays. I gather that this is due to the current situation with the electric bus rollout. Particularly given they are oft criticised for poor build quality and other issue...

Re: Bus Observations 2024

Unlikely be a dedicated fleet of new buses as happened during the Chatswood - Epping shutdown. Unless there is a relaxation of the policy not permitting Sydney operators to purchase new diesels, then Transit Systems is going to be relying on sub-contractors. It is my understanding that the buses th...

Re: New Sydney and Outer Metro bus contracts (as from 2020)

I overheard the 2 way on Transit Systems O500LE Bustech VST m/o 5200 this afternoon it sounds like Transit Systems has set up a radio control room in region 2 drivers that I heard calling in addressed it as the OCC what does OCC stand for and is it a universal radio control room for Transit Systems...

Re: Bus Observations 2023

Has the headway on the 389 ended? I notice this week the 389 is operated by standard - non H stickered buses - which normally didn’t appear on the 389 under headway. Also, the standby bus that sits at BJI hasn’t appeared this week. The last day for headway on the 389 was Friday 15th September. Any ...

Re: New Sydney and Outer Metro bus contracts (as from 2020)

From Sunday 25 September, as has been speculated significantly here, Route M92 will be spilt in two. 920 - Parramatta to Bankstown 960 - Bankstown to Parramatta. At the same time, Route 915 will be discontinued. Wasn't the best of starts for TSA on the 452 today. First trip ran nearly 30 minutes lat...

Re: Temporary Bus Route Timetables

The operator of Route 4 has not been consistent. Last night it was operated by Transdev John Holland, but on Saturday it was operated by Transit System. It is possible that the operator for Sunday has yet to be determined leading to the delay in publishing the timetable.

Re: Broadway Light Rail?

Based on the regular City of Sydney light rail rambling, I presume the desired outcome here would actually look like the conversion of the 304 and 440 bus routes to Light Rail. A 304 light rail would help with the Green Square corridor and could probably be accommodated on George Street up to the Qu...

Re: Timetable changes December 2022/2023

It appears that the 190X is being extended to North Avalon, at the old E88 terminus, from this Monday as part of the KD R8 changes. No announcement, but reflected in both the apps and the online timetable.

3825's withdrawal seems to be unrelated to the arrival of electric buses at Kingsgrove. The withdrawal of 3786 last week at K (not yet reflected in fleet lists) is probably more related

Re: Bus Observations 2023

It may not even be a transfer. Kingsgrove does the occasional 477 trip. In the current lot of shifts I've noticed quite a few otherwise Tempe routes have trips operated regularly operated by K. This includes the 303, 305, 308, 358, 476 and 477. It appears Kingsgrove evn operates a handful of 420s a...

They have been registered but I don't believe they have entered service yet. There are a further 20 or so of them sitting in the former STA AMD yard unregistered, although with Kingsgrove accreditation.

Re: 2023 NSW Election

The Tempe Oranas are rarely ever seen, I've caught them maybe 3 times in the last 6 months, and they usually only make it out at school times. I would say maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the time I catch the bus it's an Optimus. I'm not sure if I'm lucky, or if Transit Systems has some positive bias towards th...

We have our new Transport Minister, Jo Haylen, and it seems she is already getting busy. Given the moves in SA to bring the privately run Trains and...

So do we have any idea how many Elements are going to Kingsgrove? Fleet lists says 16 so far Officially 79 have been ordered. There are rumours around that they may have more than 79 on the way. The 16 in fleet lists so far would likely correspond to those already delivered to the former AMD site a...

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

There are a number of issues related to the electric buses, which is leading to the low numbers of them on the road on any given day. At Waverley, I am lead to believe that only 4 of the 10 Elements are actually currently in service, and they are only used when Waverley runs out of other buses. It i...

Saw 10+ unreg Elements in Leichhardt depot. There's 12 on the fleetlists TBD list but these are linked to Kingsgrove depot.
