Re: Future of the board

My interest in the ATDB and other facebook groups is my interest in buses and finding details of buses operating in Sydney since the 1950's. I have always wondered why some fleet lists have not been added as was being done a few years back. One list I would like to see included is of Westbus when ow...

Re: Desto Time 14 - Leslies Blacktown

A former operator of this route in the 50's was Killdare Bus Service Proprietor Ryder and Sons. I am interested in buses used by this operator. I do have a record of one bus a bonneted Chev. with m/o 011. Does anyone know of any other buses belonging to this operator.

I am more interested in seeing photos of Crowther's in their earlier days in the 50's and 60's.

H.T.Saint & Co. at Peakhurst would have also had at least 15 buses in 1955.

Plan B Transport

I was travelling north across the Tom Uglys Bridge when I passed a bus belonging to Plan B Transport with registration m/o 7053. Unfortunately I was not able to get further details of the make of this bus. I notice it is not yet included in their fleetlists. This plate was previously with South Tran...

Sydney Coaches and Sydney Coachlines

Both of the above companies are based at Kingsgrove. I saw a Mercedes Benz with rego. m/o 5400 yesterday. The bus was white with green stripes being the colour used by Sydney Coachlines. I have noticed fleet lists have recorded this bus as belonging to Sydney Coaches who up to this time do not appea...

Berry Bus Service

Berry Bus Service has a Fuso Rosa on plates m/o 025. Trans Dev NSW recently sold a Volvo B10 on plates m/o 027 which was previously with Pioneer Coaches, Bexley to Berry Bus Service. I do not know if the plates were transferred onto the bus at Berry Bus Service. If this did occur then Berry Bus Serv...

Re: Private Observations 2019

Got a ride one one of Tempe’s new Volvo B8RLE Volgren Optimus. It’s very close to STA’s B8 Volgren Optimus but still noticeably different - the seating layout is the same, except for the welcome return of private seat behind driver, and the handrails are metallic uncoloured. The windows are the rec...

I remember these buses when living near Beverly Hills in the 50s & 60s. The photos of m/o 090 and m/o 4338 are the first time I have seen these photos and have forgotten them from my memory. I am also interested in photos when Marrin was the owner of routes 34 and 35.

Hidden Fleetlists

I came across a fleet list for Carss Park Chartered Tours & Bus Lines ( J.O'Nains ). The fleet list is not listed in the historical listing of bus fleets.
However there exists a listing of buses in this fleet. Are there any other listings for bus companies not shown in the fleet lists.

Re: Distribution of high-capcity buses in NSW

Tony The articulates from Kingsgrove Bus Service and Shire Bus Service are regularly used to transfer school children for sport activities. I often see these buses at Scarborough Park, Kogarah along with other buses. Kingsgrove Bus Service will often use 6 or more buses to transfer school children t...

I can think of two articulated buses in Sydney not counted above. One is with Kingsgrove Bus Service at Peakhurst and the other with Shire Bus Service at Heathcote. These buses are used for charter services.

I agree with the proposal for a tunnel between Waterfall and Thirroul to enable a faster train service to Wollongong and Kiama. The line between Kiama and Bomaderry if electrified would also provide a faster service from Sydney. If the proposal for the above tunnel goes ahead I consider that the exi...

Historic Bus Company operated 1935-1957

I have come across an article on the following bus company that operated from 1935 to 1957. Myers and Dickson operated Route 85 from Eastwood Station to Marsfield. They sold out to Hunters Hill Bus Co. in July 1957. I am surprised I have only one record of a bus belonging to Myer and Dickson that ha...

I do not have any previous relationship with Riverstone Bus Co. I was only able to gather information on missing buses from their list by referring to the Busways fleet list and identifying those which I have listed as coming from Riverstone Bus Co.

Another similar bus is the Belmore/Lakemba bus m/o 4070 which is now at the Bus Museum. It too has the headlights in a different place. However the detail of the placing of the route number box is the same.

Thank you for the above advice. I have been able to locate some missing buses from the list for Riverstone Bus Co. when they were sold to Busways. If you do a google search In the Australian bus website for 'deane's or riverstone you are able to get fleetlists for Deane's Coaches and Riverstone Bus Co.
