Re: CBD & South East Light Rail

Goodness. Nothing short of a 2m high chain link fence with barbed wire. It would look pretty hideous on that. Maybe something like this? Common on many 19th century trams https://img.zcdn.com.au/lf/8/hash/38295/19724150/4/Expandable%2BAluminium%2BBarrier%2BGate.jpg There will be an enquiry and inqu...

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

From my understanding, Ebusco and BCI have their electric buses produced by a Chinese firm called Wisdom Motor. So much for Ebusco touting themselves as European.

Re: COVID-19 response

In terms of advancement, though, perhaps it is time to move on. Unfortunately SmartRider vendors in Perth are few and far between, and as yet, debit/credit card payments are not possible onboard buses (so much for the new ticketing promised for the end of 2018!). So the need for cash remains until ...

Re: Inner West Light Rail observations

I think it’s time to bite the bullet and make the Citadis trams compatible for passenger service on IWLR to avoid this happening again. This incident, which we could be now looking at least several weeks of no L1 service, is just completely appalling and is an indictment on ordering trams with diff...

Not entirely... Operators are no longer being allocated individual blocks of fleet numbers... They will now share the same blocks as is done with the artics  Meaning some of them could end up with Path? What about 2791-99? Presumably Path will get those then once its filled up, they will get ...

One benefit of opportunity charging in the future is that it reduces the load on the power grid. Imagine in the future, having every vehicle, personal or commercial, charging only at night, worse if its on a hot summer night where residential power usage is higher due to air-conditioning units being...

The Liberal states see the significance of keeping their economies, in which small business plays a significant role, going. The Labor states see small business as mere collateral damage, based I guess on the philosophy that small business owners are capitalists (never mind the well-being of all th...

Re: MAN Lion's City electric bus

TA3001 wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2020 9:14 pm Where does the name 'Lion's city' originate from?
That comes from the Lion badge inherited from Büssing, and "City" refers to city buses. The Lion's City is the branding for MAN integral city buses from 1996 onwards.

Similarly, Lion's Coach is the name for integral coaches from MAN.

Route 410 is Transit Systems. Yes - but there's nowhere to post it otherwise. If I post it in Private Observations , it won't be 100% correct either. My point being, the scheduling is definitely not coordinated and whilst it could be difficult to coordinate, I think the next step would be to increa...
