Re: Victorian Bus Observations 2024
As a car passenger, I went past Dysons bus #1122 which was stopped at North Rd. Reservoir that was going to Lalor on the 566 at 8 pm. It had police cars parked in front and behind it with an ambulance there and people looking on. Does anyone know what happened?

Re: Myki
I read that fares are going up in January but only the Zone 1 increase is mentioned, what about Zone 2? I asked PTV earlier today and couldn't even get a straightforward answer. PTV thinks that Zone 1 is the same as Zone 2 and its Journey Planner even shows a Zone 1 fare when travelling entirely in ...

Re: Victorian Bus Observations 2023
A worthless junkie (of course a white male in their early 20s) held up bus 1153 on the 901 in Wantirna tonight by taking the emergency hammer off the hook, then attempted to steal a box of KFC from a passenger before walking off as soon as the doors opened. Wasn't on the next inbound 901 either (un...

Re: Myki
We already see a lot of fare evasion and the price increase will only encourage more of it. I find the article confusing as it says a single fare will increase from $3.35 to $3.60. The single fares are currently $4.60 for Zone 1 & $3.10 for Zone 2, so that makes no sense. What will a Zone 2 fare...

Re: Dysons Group Discussion Thread - 2022
A few of the older buses were on routes 517/566 today. The ones I saw were numbers 305, ex East West 349, 359 & 391 but there would have been more.

I tried to find this bus on the Kinetic fleet list but it's not there as well as many others. Does anyone know when this list will be completed?

Re: Dysons Group Discussion Thread - 2022
Thank you for clarifying. That would also explain why some other Bundoora listed buses are operating on Reservoir routes and vice versa.

Re: Dysons Group Discussion Thread - 2022
Could someone please tell me where the new Dysons buses are located? The fleet list says Bundoora but I've seen #1265 & #1268 on routes 555/6 during the week.

Re: Victorian Route and Timetable Changes 2022
Something similar should be done to the 566. There should be separate route numbers for Greensborough to Northland and Greensborough to Lalor as it used to be. This is a confusing route, especially along Grimshaw St. where buses operate in both directions.

Re: Victorian Route and Timetable changes 2021
The return of off-peak fares is good news, after being lost for eight years after the last Metcard was sold. Just need to convince PTV to extend the Early Bird trips to buses and trams so we're not singing with Alanis Morissette "it's a free ride when you've already paid". No point in a f...

Re: All other Victorian bus observations 2020
So with middle/back door boarding allowed even more people will travel without paying than is already happening. No wonder the state is going broke. It won't make any difference. Many people already travel without paying when entering through the front door as they know the driver won't say anythin...

I noticed on the Dyson Group list that #1078 is mistakenly shown twice so the total may need to be checked.

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
I'm just wondering why there are no buses numbered between 1121 & 1175, are the missing numbers reserved to be used later? I'm also curious why ex East West buses #1 & #2 were renumbered 799 & 801 when Dysons took over Reservoir Bus Co./East West, what happened to 800?

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
The ex-East West buses at Reservoir have pretty much been sticking to their allocated runs... although on a weekend, you may spot #478 on an ex-Reservoir run. On Monday (29th July) #478 filled in for #779. When #478 returned from being re-sprayed it did the 567 on the Saturday and the 553 on a Sund...

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
I recently noticed buses #478 & #867 are now in full Dysons livery, and not only operating on the 561 but other routes as well. I'm just wondering if all East West buses have now changed to Dysons. The ones I'm not sure about are #809, #882 & #936, can anyone confirm?

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
Earlier today I caught #349 on the 566. It's unusual to see a bus from an East West route operating elsewhere, even if it now has the Dysons logos.

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
At Reservoir Station today I noticed the 301 buses also have the Dysons logo so it's highly likely this applies to the 570 as well. Fleet Lists and PTV Livery Buses & Coaches can be updated when that's confirmed.

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
I wonder if the legal operator of the 561 which is East West Bus Co.(VIC)Pty.Ltd. has been changed to L.C.Dysons Bus Services Pty.Ltd in the recent contract renewals. That would also apply to the 570 too.Richard, has Dysons logo buses operated on the 570 ? I only noticed the changes on the 561 this...

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
I've noticed that East West buses have had their logos changed to Dysons. A few Dysons liveried buses (both from Bundoora and ex Reservoir ones) have also been operating on the 561 recently, so is this the end of East West? As East West buses have only been operated by Dysons since 2012 it would mak...

Re: Dyson Group News 2019
I've been wondering for some time why many train and tram replacement buses have the letter "R" or "S" next to the fleet numbers, what do these stand for? Also, what's the reason for new buses during the past year ( both Dysons & East West ) being in PTV livery? I'm assuming ...

It's also time for PTV to update the route description as it still shows City Loop services operate anti-clockwise on weekends. These services have operated in a clockwise di...

Re: Dyson Group News 2018
I'm just wondering if there will be any changes to the 517 timetable. I noticed the online timetable shows the effective date is from April 22, 2012 to August 25, 2018. Then it shows August 26, 2018 for that day only which seems to be the normal Sunday timetable, so what's happening after that? As r...
