Re: What's with bus route 135 to North Head?

The maps with the timetable on the TfNSW website show route 135 terminating at North Fort Rd. My notes show that the route stopped running right up to the lookout (ie the Fairfax Walk) on 23 April 2001. Yet the (dynamic?) map on the website if you select "Warringah Mall to North Head via Manly" as ...

Re: Extra Covid 19 services

To add to my observation re the extra off peak 144 services, they are also running on the weekend, though only 2 an hour but also between Spit Junction and RNS Hospital.
Was thinking they'd run them the whole route, but can also see why they wouldn't based on demand.

Re: Extra Covid 19 services

I've noticed off peak there are short running route 144 buses between Spit Junction and RNS Hospital (St Leonards), running about every 15-30 minutes on top of the normal route 144 buses, which I have seen pre COVID-19 get quite full during the day - even when the rare articulated bus operates that ...

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2020

Saw this sign at Ingleburn Station today about cancelled AM peak hour services (not sure from which station but these times do not match up with the arrival times from Ingleburn) for the next two weeks: (snip) I can't find official info on Transportnsw.info Not sure what you mean by the times not m...

Re: Opal Discussion and Observations

https://transportnsw.info/news/2020/opal-system-upgrade-saturday-2-9-may It's not linked on the main page, but from one of the sub-pages, and interestingly it's dated for Monday, but yes there seems to be some sort of update being done with respect to the light rail Opal readers, though OpalPay, top...

Noticed a couple of the Northern Beaches buses prematurely showing the new "X" suffixed route numbers this morning (I think I saw 183x at least - it was definitely a lowercase "x").

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown

A common "paid area" between the platforms of the two operators would be beneficial to transferring passengers as they would not have to tag off and then on again, and pedestrian flows would also improve as a result. As the Opal fare system allows for transfers already, even if there was two differ...

Re: Opal Discussion and Observations

https://twitter.com/T8SydneyTrains/status/1235905523926564867?s=20 Why can't system maintenance take place during times of track work or overnight when services do not run? Even though that quotes the T8 Sydney Trains Twitter account, being an Opal system wide outage technically services do run all...

Seems its North Sydney Bus Charters that operates the shuttle, using what I think was TV7940 each day that I've seen it.

Re: Use of Back Door on Buses

Been seeing a number of users 'boarding' via the centre/rear door on buses recently, and not even at an interchange for that matter.

Was thinking where had I seen all door boarding overseas - it was in Taipei where this is apparently commonplace.

They are talking about it on the radio the reports say that this derailment happened some place north of Melbourne ABC quotes that it was at Wallan. Re: Opal Discussion and Observations

just went to the airport. $20.20. Ouch. Seems a lot more than the last trip which was $18.39 or something like that. My last trip to the airport (last week) was $17.39, and it was basically between the Domestic Terminal and Central/City stations. Not sure how you got $20.20 - might want to check ou...

Re: STA Observations 2020

The section south of Rhodes is particularly pleasing as it was only introduced relatively recently as opposed to Route 534 which served the Chatswood - Ryde section previously. The 533 was previously a peak-period only service but with the demise of the 534, the 533 ended up being a full-time route...

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2020

Doesn't matter which option they choose, there will be similar numbers of whingers who will have to change trains somewhere "Three trains from Cabramatta to Campsie; it's only one now", etc The old "can't please everybody", which is so true here as there's only so many ways to deal with a Y link. Re: TransportNSW Info page gives 3 or 4 minutes to change tr

The didn't really need a Town Hall & QVB stop. Could have put the to Circular Quay platform on the southern side of Druitt St, and the Central bound platform on the northern side of Druitt St, and called it either Town Hall & QVB , or just Town Hall . That way, they could have put a tram stop at Wo...

While I remember it, how long has Transit Systems R6 bus 7069 - one of the Gemilang buses - had an onboard passenger info display and stop announcements? Expect some service changes in the coming months, rumoured to be 410, 436, L37, 439, 440, 487, 508, M10 & M50. Well I've noticed in TripView that route 430 is appearing as an identical route to M30, and 320 appears alongside M20 so guessing renumbering those routes is part of the mix as well. Don't...

The outbound stop on Frenchmans Road also has the Metroline signage. Im surprised it hasn't been removed/souveineered. Pretty sure there's quite a bit of old MetroLine signage, and that of former bus routes dotted around Sydney. There's still signs referencing route 250 at Crows Nest, which if I'm ...

I've never encountered any free WiFi that bothered to verify beyond possibly checking the domain is valid. The one that Westfield use does check, as I tried it with an invalid email address and it didn't let me on as such. From a transport perspective, the WiFi in (I think) the Toei Subway in Tokyo...

265 is a weird service. Peak hour supplement?. The 255 like plenty of service in that area doesn't run on Sundays at all, and has poor frequency. Would have thought the 256 was more a peak hour supplement, in that barring the little section of Chatswood West that it does the loop in, that it is mor...

As far as I can see five Sydney Regions to go: Busabout region15 although it was gazetted a few weeks ago, one Transdev region and all three STA regions.
