Re: TransRegional News - 2016
Up for consultation for the next month (under the "Bunbury consultation") 825 is a new shuttle to the Dolphin Discovery Centre, replacing the rerouted 827 . Express bus station - train station trips now numbered 826 . 827 no longer serves Koombana Dr (diverted via current 845 route - Haye...

Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions - 2016
Reports suggest that plans for BRT to Ellenbrook will be revived in the next state budget. The plan only seems to consist of bus lanes down Lord St and along Reid Hwy. The PTA is also investigating a London-like system to allow passengers to pay for their journeys by tagging on and off with their b...

Re: Survey:Hot Cross Buns: Would You Eat Them everyday?
The Coles ones are heaven, but if I ate them all year round I'd probably get bored of them. Better to keep them away for Easter (i.e. January to April) IMO. From memory Coles was selling cross-less hot cross buns (they called them "fruit buns") after last Easter, but they were discontinued...

Re: Closed Fremantle Line Stations
Freight trains still use the line. I think that the PTA controlled signalling runs until just before The Esplanade, after which you need a train order through to Robb Jetty. Personally, I struggle to see how the line could ever be reopened to passengers. The coastal section is single track, mostly i...

Perhaps they could route them to Morley or Bayswater off peak but retain them in their current form during peak periods.

Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions - 2016
In response to theenglishguy : The Terrace is tricky one, but something certainly needs to be done. I rarely use buses along the Terrace but on the few occasions that I have needed to it certainly wasn't fun. Regarding through-routing, I personally don't like the idea of the PTA having to change bus...

Yeah simonl, that premium airport charge probably has served its purpose now that most revenue goes back to TfNSW.

Re: Forrestfield-Airport Link Project
Yes we used public transport to access Adelaide airport a year or two ago I must say it was very convenient. You South Australians should be proud, considering that we didn't even have direct public transport to the international airport until a few months ago. The Jet Express seems like a silly ide...

Zidanehartono , I'll try and explain... In NSW the government struck a deal with a private company. The government funded the construction of the underground railway line to the airport, but the private company paid for the construction of the underground airport stations. The government would not ...

Re: Ellenbrook - Whitfords bus link idea
A PTA spokeswoman said there was "a very good reason" Ellenbrook buses connected to the Midland line and not the Joondalup line. She said two routes, every 10 minutes on-peak and 15 minutes off-peak, comparable to any inner-city bus service, passed through well-populated precincts to Bass...

Why does the Armadale line need fixing?
Grade separation mainly helps motorists. It shouldn't be a priority.
And why are you asking McGowan to build something you see as "shitty"?

Re: Ellenbrook - Whitfords bus link idea
As for Ellenbrook I wonder whether there would be any gain by joining 379 and 341 to form a Mirrabooka - Bassendean route via Malaga (where there's jobs), allowing a bus-bus connection with 955/956. That would provide connections to more places though it would still be a 3-bus trip to some places. ...

A new public transport masterplan for Perth is being prepared according to the DoT. This will provide a framework for the expansion of Perth's public transport system to cater for a population of 3.5 million.

Re: Ellenbrook - Whitfords bus link idea
Not sure why they'd extend it to Clarkson - that would just be duplicating the rail line. I wonder if they could operate a mixture of both services to Whitfords (mainly in the peak and perhaps combined with the 352 to improve efficiency as Mr OC Benz suggested back in 2014), and services running dir...

Re: 9 day shutdown to occur in july
When the Armadale line is closed they just run dedicated coaches between Perth and Armadale. The train still operates as normal to Bunbury. It will certainly inconvenience Australind passengers I wouldn't call the disruption "huge".
