Anyone reckon the Liverpool route will use the M12 and the T-way or will it be something different?

Re: "River Rail Link" Kogarah to Parramatta

This isn't exactly a new idea from the council, this line was one of the lines in the 2056 plan slated for 2036. Still good to see someone push for it.

Also, link to council report.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD

The poor control of costs is the least of light rail's problems now that it's opened and finished.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD

Considering French tramways has been a big theme of this thread, it's interesting to point out that the French is at it again trying to re-invent the tram this time in the UK.

Re: New bus contracts to drive improved services (as from 20

After the light rail travel time disaster, I don't think Transdev should get the contract for the new regions. If there are any co-ordination problems, the government should take up a stronger position in that role rather than hand it over like KD.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD

How dare you! Yeah, they have feelings but they're not beyond criticism, including criticism that they should be stripped of their contract unless they improve their performance. These aren't idiotic comments, if no one talks about bad Transdev, then the chances of improvement are even less than wh...

Don't know about this argument. The Quebecers buy standard North American buses for their cities rather than any French or another European bus.

Re: Use of Back Door on Buses

All this talk of rear-door boarding interstate. It seems like Transdev Melbourne is now officially doing rear-door only boarding, of course, many drivers have been doing it on own anyway in Melbourne. And remember that Transdev Melbourne has notorious issues yet decided that it was safe to this. I w...

Well it's not tramway junction anymore is it? Maybe interchange or intermodal junction would be better.

Much like all trashy or tabloid publications, you should take it with a grain of salt, but that doesn't mean that the linked Daily Mail story is false or misleading. You definitely haven't addressed any of the article's points on COVID-19 and bus drivers before dismissing the article simply because ...

Meanwhile, in London, they're finally doing centre-door boarding... and in the time between the start of the outbreak and the new door policy, 9 bus workers have died from the virus. Real geniuses over there. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-52212143

I guess you could say that his "work" is filming public transport vehicles and he can't do that at home? So he has to travel for work would be his excuse if he wants to bend the rules like that.

I was on a bus in Melbourne today where the driver only opened the centre/rear door and kept the front door sealed. I guess much like all door boarding, these things seem to happen unofficially in Melbourne. (I haven't caught the bus or any PT or driven anyway in days and needed to get something do...

^^ But still no rear door loading. I guess at this stage, the unions are asking for it (to be infected) if they're not pressuring the government to do rear door loading.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD

In the eyes of the Opal system, light rail trips are coded as ferry trips. When you tap your actual card on the NFC chip of your Android phone, light rail trips come up as Ferry trips. I think they just change it for the website, but other than that light rail a ferry on Opal. Sent from my moto g(7)...
